What you’ll read here
Most technology decisions are judged by what they offer, while ignoring what they will cost, the tech debt impact, skills gap, and vendor lock-in.
This publication covers that other side of the ledger. Topics include:
Cognitive debt: what organizations lose when systems and AI think on their behalf
Intent-driven engineering: building around what the business means, not just what it specifies
Open models in the enterprise: when they make sense and when they don’t
Sovereign AI: control, regulation and dependency in practice
Cloud and platform strategy: the costs that only show up after migration
How often
A new long-form piece every one to two weeks, with shorter takes in between.
About the author
I’m the lead strategist and architect for the IT organization of a global company with more than 700,000 employees.
Before this role, I spent over twenty years in consulting, working on transformation programs for banks, insurers, energy and telecom companies, retailers, and defense organizations.
I write here about the long-term cost of technology and AI decisions—the parts that rarely make it into the business case but show up later in operations, budgets, and skills.
Views are my own and don’t represent any employer or client.
